 *Every night of the week at 8:00 p.m., there is a regular Maariv Minyan (evening prayer service), which gathers at Illini Hillel. On most evenings after Maariv, Rabbi Shlomo Schachter leads a learning session for any students interested in sticking around for a few extra minutes and discussing any hot topics on their mind.

Community Observance of Yom HaShoah

The community is invited to join this observance of Yom HaShoah featuring poetry, liturgy, and music to allow us to reflect on this day in which we remember the Holocaust and Heroism. Rabbi Mark Glickman of Temple B'nai Tikvah in Calgary, Alberta will be our keynote speaker. He will discuss his book Stolen Words, which discusses the Nazi plunder of sacred Jewish texts.

The Lone Soldier Experience with Avi Lurie

Yom HaZikaron Ceremony

Illini Hillel, alongside the Champaign-Urbana Jewish and Israeli community, will be gathering together on Israel Memorial Day to honor the fallen soldiers in Israel's wars and the victims of terror attacks in Israel. We will be having a ceremony, remembering our debt and expressing our eternal gratitude, to those who gave their lives for the achievement of Israel's independence and its continued existence.

The ceremony will be held in person at Hillel on April 13th at 7pm. It will be broadcasted live on Hillel's Facebook page and over Zoom, to ensure that everyone will have the opportunity to join us on this day.

Celebrate Shabbat with Hillel - Morrocan Style!

Please register to join your Illini Hillel family for a Shabbat experience! Dinner at Hillel, curbside, and hosting options available! We cannot wait to see you!

Registration is MANDATORY for all Shabbat activities (services and meals) by LATEST on Wednesday at noon. Whether you are joining for services, dinner, both, or taking a meal to go, you must register. 


If you register and end up not being able to make it to services or meals, please contact a Hillel staff member and let us know ASAP.
