Comprised of dedicated alumni, parents, University faculty and staff and community members, the Board of Directors is the directing body of the Illini Hillel. The Board is responsible for ensuring that Illini Hillel is fulfilling its mission and for the legal accountability of its operations. It is responsible for ensuring effective organizational and strategic planning and for ensuring that Hillel has adequate resources to carry out its mission.

Board Member Bios

Linda Bauer

Linda has lived in Champaign-Urbana for the past 40 years. She grew up in Pueblo, Colorado. Linda and her parents emigrated from Poland after World War II. Her parents were Holocaust survivors. Linda received a BA degree and later an MA in English from the University of Northern Colorado in 1973. She has worked in the areas of marketing and public relations, computer software, fundraising, and grant writing. Most recently, she was Executive Director of the Champaign Urbana Jewish Federation, until her retirement in June, 2022. Besides managing the organization, she worked with volunteers to plan and coordinate activities, implement fundraising campaigns, and promote CUJF's mission and goals.
