From Europe to Champaign: Never Again

Hillel's Holocaust Museum

From Europe to Champaign: Never Again

Monday November 8 - Thursday November 11

Hillel is turning the building into a walk-through Holocaust Museum during the entire week of Kristallnacht (November 9). The museum will be open Monday, November 8 through Thursday, November 11 from 10am-5pm.

During the week of Kristallnacht (Night of Broken Glass), Hillel is providing an immersive Holocaust museum experience. This pop-up will feature informative panels from Yad Vashem and personal stories to honor those who perished and the survivors within our own Urbana-Champaign community.

There will be a short pre-showing discussion explaining what to expect and also a post-showing discussion for people to process what they have just seen and experienced.

The goal of this is to educate the community about the Holocaust and ensure people know that survivors are amongst us in this very community and we are not that far away from when the Holocaust happened.

Groups of students, faculty, and community members will be able to register and sign up for a specific time slot during the week for a showing (Greek houses, friend groups, community members, faculty groups, etc.). The museum will be open to everyone! After-hours showings can be offered if specifically requested.

Thank you to our sponsors: Program in Jewish Culture and Society, Holocaust, Genocide and Memories Studies, CUJEF, Champaign-Urbana Jewish Federation, Holocaust Education Center, University YMCA, Organic Oneness, and Yad Vashem
