Alternative Spring Break In chicago!

Join Hillel for a truly unique Alternative Break experience March 19-22nd to learn about the Jewish history of North Lawndale, tour its buildings and former houses of worship - and see their current use - while also meeting leaders of the community currently living there, and taking part in unique direct service opportunities.

We will also celebrate Shabbat evening together with the Oak Park Temple community and Rabbi Max Weiss, and spend Saturday learning with Mara Wolkoff of the Jewish Council for Urban Affairs.

Applications will be due February 12th with interviews to follow. The cost of the trip will be $65 and will include accommodations, most meals, and all program costs. We will also have an optional van returning to UIUC leaving Sunday afternoon following the end of the weekend, at no additional cost. If the cost is an issue for you, please contact Rabbi Ari.

If you have any questions, please contact Rabbi Ari at ariel@illinihillel.org
