In 2014 Illini Hillel started raising the funds for scholarships to incoming Jewish freshmen to the University of Illinois. The Illini Hillel Scholarship Fund enhances Jewish student leadership, as the student chosen needs to complete a series of four personal development activities within the fields of Shabbat, Social Justice/Charity, Learning, and Leadership. These activities are broad and open to interpretation based on the student’s interests and the approval of the Scholarship Fund coordinator at Hillel.
Students at the University of Illinois are currently raising the funds required for the 2018-2019 school year. Each Scholarship costs $1,500 and we would like to raise enough funds for two scholarships.
