Welcome to Illini Hillel, where Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life was founded at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Hillel creates a warm and welcoming community where students from all Jewish backgrounds can meet, explore and celebrate Jewish life.
ILLINI HILLEL REOPENING ANNOUNCEMENT:
As the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign announced yesterday, the Urbana-Champaign campus will be reopening for instruction this fall semester in a hybrid manner, including both in-person and online course options for students.
As such, Illini Hillel is extremely excited to open our doors and welcome the students back in the fall! We are creating new, innovative, and safe opportunities to explore and celebrate Jewish life at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As we reopen in accordance with Phase 4 of the “Restore Illinois” plan, we will be strictly adhering to government and University regulations and recommendations in order to ensure the health of our students, staff, and wider community.
Be on the lookout for a second email in the coming weeks, which will detail our CDC compliant safety regulations and policies. In the meantime, if you have any safety or health concerns, please feel free to reach out to our Executive Director, Erez Cohen.
We cannot wait to see our wonderful students and reunite as a community back in Urbana-Champaign very soon.
We are also thrilled to officially welcome the Class of 2024! We look forward to meeting you all and welcoming you into the Illini Hillel family.
