Hillel's Past Alternative Breaks
During breaks from school (winter, spring, and fall) students volunteer to give up their time to help out different communities in need. Locations range from Mexico, to Missouri, to New York, and to our very own community of Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. The topics that are addressed through the multitude of the service projects include natural disasters, poverty, physical disabilities, Tikkun Olam, and Judaism.

The hurricane hit nearly 3 months ago, yet no one seems to even realize the damage it has caused. Houses were left vacant, wet, and moldy. The destruction was amazing and terrifying." - Robbie Schnitzer, Hillel President 2013
