Rabbi Naftali and Tali Rothstein, Seif Jewish Learning Initiative on Campus EducatorsRabbi Rothstein studied at Meretz Kollel in Mevaseret Zion, Israel, receiving ordination from Rabbis Uri Cohen and Sinai Adler. A native of Los Angeles and avid fan of the Lakers, Rabbi Rothstein made aliyah with his family in 1993 at the age of 13. After high school, he backpacked through Europe, sleeping in train stations and under bridges before returning to Israel. He also holds a BA in Education from Lifshitz College in Jerusalem. Following his military service, Rabbi Rothstein spent 4 years studying at Shilo Yeshiva. While there, he met Tali, who shared his passion for hiking and nature. Tali was born and raised in Israel and holds a BA in English Literature and Linguistics from Hebrew University. She was a youth leader in B'nai Akiva. Tali studied Torah at Binat Seminary and at Hebrew U's Havruta Talmud Program. Tali enjoys reading, writing, art, nature and hiking. She is interested in everything from manatees and world cuisine to medieval poetry and web-comics. The Rothsteins have 2 children- Yehonatan Yisrael, who enjoys dancing on tables and playing his guitar; and Elianna Reizel, who likes making dinosaur noises and gnawing on shoes.

Erez Cohen, Israel Programs Coordinator Erez was born and raised in Tel Aviv, Israel. He is currently attending Tel Aviv University studying for his MA in Diplomacy after receiving his Bachelors in Political Science also from Tel Aviv University. Erez was working at the Israeli Doctors Outreach Clinic in Kampala area (Uganda). Involves giving cultural training and orientations to the doctors before the leave for 3 months to run outreach clinics in the rural suburbs of Uganda's Capital. Other organizations Erez works on includes the Little Light Children’s Center, Nagenda Arts College for Street Kids and Minjingu Community Center.
In his free time Erez enjoys hanging out with friends, reading, going to the gym and finding creative new projects.
Erez is really excited to come and live in one of the best campuses in the US and is hoping to meet many new friends and take part in the wonderful social activities of Illini Hillel.
