Study Abroad Hebrew University of Jerusalem Rothberg International School

The Rothberg International School (RIS) has become a magnet that attracts students from around the world. RIS offers a broad selection of courses that are designed to highlight the rich history of Israel, while connecting it to the fascinating present and challenging future of the region. Courses range from Bible to Modern Hebrew Literature, as well as ancient Jewish history to modern Arab nationalism. Studying on Hebrew University's four campuses are 24,000 students from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds including some 1,200 students from abroad. Students from over 50 countries come to Hebrew University to find a fascinating study program, a diverse student population, a thriving Israeli culture and a life changing experience they will never forget. Courses offered through the Rothberg International School are taught in English.

Jerusalem, the capital of Israel, is well known for its abundant historical and holy sites and fascinating tourist attractions. A city sacred to Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, Jerusalem is a melding of past and present, of ancient roots and modern innovations. This thriving metropolis is rich in art galleries and museums, theaters and concert halls, restaurants and cafes, pubs and dance clubs. Exciting festivals, exhibitions, international conferences, sports competitions, and many other events are held throughout the year. The Office of Student Activities provides opportunities for students to become acquainted with Israel by means of seminars, workshops, overnight trips, short excursions and volunteer projects.
