From Religious events such as Sunday's Midrash and Meal, Monday's Lunch and Learn, and Tuesday evenings JLIC learning sessions, people are able to take time to connect with their Judaism in the middle of the cornfields of Illinois. Social events such as Sunday's bagel brunch, Carly's coffee talk, and Israel Sessions allow people to connect with other Jewish students and discuss issues that are important to them. In addition, fun events such as last week's dodgeball event was a huge success and brought over a hundred students together, cheering on teams in an extremely fun and exciting environment.
With the building being open from 10am-10pm for students to just hang out, relax, and do their schoolwork (and I've never seen it empty), Hillel is truly serving its purpose of helping build our Jewish community by serving as a center for Jewish Life.
If you've never been to Hillel, I really encourage you to come check it out! And if you've already been here, keep coming. Every person makes an impact on our community, and makes it that much better. I look forward to seeing you at Illini Hillel soon!
