Being a camp counselor has been such a meaningful experience for me; I love being around and interacting with kids, and having the opportunity to positively impact their lives is just a bonus. That being said, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to try my hand at a new role and a new set of responsibilities. During this upcoming summer, I will be trading in my facepaint for staff evaluations and replacing my snack-time with planning meetings and trip preparations. I'm confident that I will still be able to form relationships with the kids, but this role will allow me to do so much more, and while that added responsibility is stressful, it is also invigorating and exciting.
Spring is a stressful time for students; there is a rush to find subleases for apartments, a great deal of cramming for finals, and a ton of pressure over finding the perfect internship. I am not immune to the stress, but I'm fortunate enough to have my plans set for the summer. And now that it's warm, I can plan that summer from the warmth and comfort of the quad grass.
I hope everyone is enjoying the warmth, and that you all have a great week!
