If I could send one message to the entire world, it would be to use what you’ve got. I’ve seen too many of my peers who are remarkably intelligent but when motivation doesn’t find them, they funnel their energy into less-than-productive endeavors. For people from all backgrounds, using every drop of the resources they’ve been afforded can mean drastically different things. For college students, this currency often takes the form of time, energy and motivation. When we fall short on any of these, we can’t accomplish nearly what we’re capable of. The same goes for even the more pivotal resources like sleep, money, and even friends. Only by using everything we are given and fighting for the things that don’t come as easily can we make the most positive difference for ourselves and those around us.
