Breakfast: Toast and a banana (I’m short on eggs)
Lunch: Chili and Rice
Dinner: Cheese Sandwich and Chili
Today was a much better day than the last few. I did not experience distracing hunger or anything of the sort. The chili was definitely the answer. It is providing much heartier meals for me. While the chicken was certainly delicious, it was not providing me with enough nutritional value on its own. I probably should have been eating more of the frozen vegetables with that, which instead will be a leftover item at the end of this week.
As I approach the final day tomorrow (consider this week an Israeli work week), I’m excited to keep eating chili and finish this week up. Having a diet on this strict of a budget is definitely difficult. On this budget, enough nutritional value is especially important. My brother Michael suggested milk as a way to keep my caloric intake up during the week. If I had the leftover money, it would be an easy way to increase vitamin and calorie intake over the enormous amount of water I have been drinking.
Luckily, I finished my last banana today. I’m not sure if it would have been edible (too brown for me) if I had wanted it to last to tomorrow. This illiustrates the difficulty of having fresh produce while on this budget. A better choice would have been apples, as they last longer than a handful of days.
Stay tuned for my conclusions tomorrow. They will be exciting!
