Chair Positions Available

    1. Supervised by the Programming VP
      1. Social Programming
        1. Plan community-building events, both large and small, to socialize the Jewish community on campus. Including, but not limited to, Jewish Barndance, formals, Date Auction, etc.
      2. Tzedek (Community Service/Social Action) Programming
        1. Plan social action/volunteer programs and work with established philanthropies. Coordinate with Greek Life VP to partner with Greek house philanthropies on campus. Other programming includes Tikun Olam, Challah for Hunger, Campus Campaign.
      3. Alternative Spring Break
        1. Manage the RSO account.
        2. Advertise the trip and help with recruitment.
        3. Create fundraising events beginning in late fall.
    2. Supervised by the Jewish Life VP
      1. Minyan Leaders (Reform, Conservative, Orthodox)
        1. Give weekend announcements and find a member of the Minyan to give a D’var Torah for each week.  Work with service leaders to make sure someone is leading the service each week. Create social programs and community building programs as necessary.
      2. Holiday Ritual Planning
        1. Work with Hillel staff to coordinate all activities pertaining to Jewish holidays, including services, festive meals and social events that relate to holidays. Coordination with the social chair is highly advised.
      3. Friday Night Coordinator
        1. Work with Minyan leaders to ensure that Friday night services are going well.  Plan themed Shabbatot and, each Friday find 1 male to lead Kiddush and 1 female to lead haMotzi.
    3. Supervised by Outreach VP
      1. Residence Halls
        1. Plan social and religious events at various residence halls (6 pack, Allen Hall, IT) that includes Bagels in Bed, Hanukkah candle lighting, mezuzah making, etc.
        2. This chair must reside in one of the dorms listed above to be considered for this position.
      2. Multi-cultural/Interfaith
        1. Coordinate with other religious and cultural groups on campus to plan events, including Interfaith Shabbat.
      3. LGBT/Allies
        1. Create programming for the LGBT/Ally community and support awareness. This includes events like movie nights, speakers, and LGBT Shabbat.
        2. Coordinate with other LGBT/Ally groups on campus to plan and co-sponsor events.
    4. Supervised by Greek Life VP 
      1. A chair must be involved in a Greek house on campus, preferably one representative per house.
      2. Act as a liaison between  his or her individual house and the Leadership Council to plan events and philanthropies.
      3. Help plan events like Greek Shabbat, Greek Iron Chef, etc.
