about us

Hillel, the foundation for Jewish campus life at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, creates a warm and welcoming community where students from all Jewish backgrounds can meet, explore and celebrate Jewish life.

The University of Illinois’ Jewish life is incredibly diverse. With nearly 3,500 Jewish students on campus, there is a tremendous breadth of interests and opportunities that can be pursued through Hillel. Whether your passions include Israel, the outdoors, social events, Jewish education, the arts, community service, Hillel can help you with all of this and even more! If there is an area you would like to see included in the Hillel program that is not currently offered, contact Carly Froomkin.
Hillel at the University of Illinois is an accredited foundation of Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life.

The Cohen Center for Jewish Life could not function without the help and support of the Jewish United Fund.  The JUF Campus Campaign offers a way for you to  support the amazing, life changing work of the Jewish United Fund. The Jewish mission of Tikkun Olam, repairing the world, must start at home.  Giving to the JUF Campus Campaign is your way of saying “yes” to making the world a better place.

Hillel offers a wide variety of opportunity for every Jewish student, from every movement and background.

Take charge of your own Jewish identity, whether through social events, going to Israel, community service projects, formal or informal Jewish learning, attending religious services, eating kosher food or just hanging out with other Jews at Hillel.
